RAGA BHAIRAVA

 

As the name indicates the painting illustrates Bhairava or Shiva, in this case seated on terrace of golden pillars with Parvati, attended by musicians and chauri bearer. It is early hours of the dawn around sunrise and stars are still visible. Bhairava is sung at this time during the months of September and October
